My 29th Interview: Australian Distance Runner Ryan Gregson

My 29th Interview is of Australian Distance Ryan Gregson and he is one hell of a distance runner

1. How did you get started in running?
When I was 4 I was doing swimming club with my older sister but she kept getting cold going in and out of the water so she wanted a change of sports. Mum and Dad suggested athletics and I've been doing it since then.
2. What do you tell people that don't get our sport of distance running?
My close friends and family understand the sport, but the people outside of that generally have an appreciation for what I do without probably understanding too much. I don't try to explain anything. I generally just say I run because I can't kick a football.
3. What are you current PR's?
1500m - 3:31.06

4. How different is Professional Distance Running Then College Running, for you?
I didn't run at college.

5. Who are your favorite professional and/or college distance runner(s) past and/or present & why?Steve Ovett because that's the type of runner I'd love to be, and Matt Centrowitz because he's getting it done.

6. Best or Worst thing about being a distance running?
Best is the feeling of winning, worst is injury.

7. Your Favorite Moment of your distance running career?
Winning the Olympic Trials this year. I'd been very injured before it and had not ran for the 2 weeks prior. I don't know how I won, but I did and it was a special feeling.

8. Goals for 2012?
Finish the season on a high and be competitive in all the remaining road races of 2012.
